What is Pinterest?

  • If you were to search Pinterest, you may see the description of Pinterest to say that it is a social media platform. Also, Pinterest is “designed to enable saving and discovery of information on the World Wide Web using images and, on a smaller scale, GIFs and videos.” Now, this definition is not wrong. But, Pinterest is so much more than just a “social media platform.”
  • The reality is Pinterest is a search engine like google. In fact, when you pin something on Pinterest, the image will also show up in a google search page results.

How Cool Is That?! Using Pinterest can get yourself found on Google! Think about how great this would be for your blog!

Tips for Success in Reaching 50K Monthly Views

    • Now, this is the bread and butter to getting to 50K Monthly Views:
      • Sign up for a free business Pinterest account.
      • Make or use existing content to pin to Pinterest.
      • Pins size does matter;). Try keeping your pins in a 1:2 or 2:3 ratio. I make my pins 600px x 1200px ! I also create all my lovely pins using Canva.
      • Invest in a Tailwind Account (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED). If you’ve been looking for a way to plan, schedule, and analyze your Pinterest and Instagram content, look no further than Tailwind. They really do wonders for increasing engagement and helping you grow your audience! If you’re ready to bring your blog to the next level, you can try Tailwind for free here.
      • Join Pinterest group boards in your niche.
      • Join Facebook Groups that have a community of people sharing pins to pin to each other account for optimal results.
      • Stay consistent (Tailwind will help with automatically scheduled pinning). Consistency is key! I got lazy and stop being as active with my Pinterest account. As a result, my monthly views went down. 🙁 But, even though my monthly views went down I was still able to get views to my blog on autopilot!
        • (Updated Dec 2019: I’ve been more consistent and implementing Tailwind a lot more to help increase my Pinterest Monthly View, and I was able to bring my Pinterest Monthly Views back up to 79K). (These are my personal results, but Tailwind also publishes the Typical Results of Tailwind Members every year, so you can see exactly what the average growth rate looks like for their members. Check out typical results from using Tailwind, here.

Common Questions/FAQ About Increasing Your Monthly Views on Pinterest

How to increase monthly viewers on Pinterest?

In sum, to increase monthly viewers on Pinterest, you have to stay consistent with pinning content to your boards, you should join group boards to get your content in front of a new audience, join facebook groups that have Engagement group post, and make eye-catching pins.

Check out my post about how I use Tailwind to maximize blog exposure!

How many monthly viewers is good on Pinterest?

A good range to me is from 50k to 100k+ monthly viewers. But, please note, that you can still get consistent traffic with only 25k monthly viewers. I suggest sitting down and make goals to reach a level of monthly viewers and then analyze how much traffic you get at every milestone.

How do you see your monthly views on Pinterest?

To see your monthly views on Pinterest, you must have a business account. If you have a business account, you will then see your monthly views on Pinterest as soon as you log in to your account under your account name and picture. Monthly views are presented right next to your monthly engaged.

How to Join Group Boards on Pinterest?

Pinterest has made it easier to join group boards. If a person creates a group board on Pinterest, the option to have a “join group request” button is present. In cases where the button is present, all you have to do is click to request to join the group board. In other cases, the requirements to be added to the group board would be shown in the description of the board. Make sure when you are added to a group board that you follow the rules of that board. Some group boards are stricter than others.

    Do Pinterest followers matter?

Personally, I don’t think Pinterest followers matter, you can have 100 followers and have 50k Pinterest monthly viewers. So, I say focus more on your content and pins, share your pins in groups so it can be shared (you can also join tribes in Tailwind to get repins as well), and or make eye-catching pins so that viewers will continue to repin your pin.

Do monthly viewers matter on Pinterest?

I believe monthly viewers on Pinterest matter more than your followers. Monthly views imply how much your pins are view on Pinterest. If your pinning pins on Pinterest, you are most likely expecting for your pins to be noticeable. Therefore, Pinterest’s monthly viewers matter.
