What is a babymoon and why should you go on one

Do you know what a babymoon is? A babymoon is a final trip taken by expecting parents before their bundle of joy arrives. It’s important for expectant parents to indulge in themselves during this time as it can be stressful and exhausting with a new baby on the way. Let’s be honest when the baby arrives, you and your significant other will not have much time alone with the new baby here.

It’s important to book a babymoon before you have your baby, as it gives you the chance to reconnect and rest before the baby arrives. Babymoons are a great way for expecting parents to unplug from the world and get away from all of their responsibilities. Here are some reasons why every expectant parent should go on a babymoon!

– Stress relief

– Relaxation

– Opportunity to spend quality time with each other

– Time to focus on self before the arrival of a new baby

How to plan your perfect babymoon: Tips for planning the perfect babymoon

It can be difficult to plan your own trip when you’re pregnant and people keep telling you that “you have no idea what it’s like” – which is true! But, with these tips from our blog post on how to pack for a babymoon (or any vacation), we hope that helps alleviate some stress. It also never hurts to talk about your plans with family or friends who may offer advice. Here are our top suggestions:

Plan Your Babymoon Ahead of Time

  • Plan ahead! Booking trips during pregnancy will most likely cost more so book as early as possible in order to get the best deals. If booking online, make sure not to choose an airline that doesn’t offer a full refund policy in case of cancellations.

Choose Your Babymoon Destination Wisely

  • Aim for destinations with plenty to do during the day, but not at night – so you don’t have to worry about being up too late or staying out all hours. Make sure they are also family-friendly! A great place to consider is a trip to Disney World!

Don’t Overpack For Your Babymoon

  • Pack light! It’s easy to pack heavy when packing for your babymoon because things like toiletries and clothing will be limited, but try our best advice: pack light and make use of laundry facilities if possible (especially on longer trips). This way it is easier on yourself as well as lessening the burden back home while taking care of children.

Packing for the Babymoon – what to bring, wear, and pack

When packing for your babymoon, it’s important to pay attention to three things: what you’re bringing (luggage), what you’ll be wearing and how you are planning on spending the day. For clothing, we recommend comfortable clothes that will make a pregnant woman feel good about herself – since there is so much pressure when being pregnant!

What To Bring on a Babymoon

Now you might be thinking, “Kayla, why do you have a section for what to bring and another section for what to pack?” and it’s quite simple, You’re going to want to have things on hand with you (bring) versus other things that can simply stay in the suitcase until you arrive at your babymoon destination (pack). With that being said, here is a list of items that I recommend/ suggest you bring on your babymoon:

  • Prenatal Medical Records
  • Emergency Contact Info
  • Prenatal Vitamins and any other Medications you need
  • Passport (Traveling Documents)
  • A neck Pillow (if you’re flying)
  • Some Snacks to keep you and the baby happy (of course)

What To Wear on a Baby Trip

  • Nausea Relief Bands
  • Comfortable clothes
  • A Pregnancy Insta-Worthy Tee
  • Nipple Guards (if you already started lactating)
  • Pregnancy Support Belt (to help carry that bump and support your back).
  • A Hat (if you’re going somewhere sunny)
  • Sunglasses 😎

What To Pack for a Babymoon Trip

What you pack for your babymoon is vastly different than what you’d pack for a typical trip. Here is a list of things we recommend you pack for your babymoon trip:

  • Comfortable Maternity Clothing such as support belt, maternity leggings/ pants, a comfortable dress.

  • Comfortable shoes (its still okay to pack your sandals and flip flops but make sure you pack some shoes that are going to keep you comfortable and give your know swollen pregnant momma feet a break).

Staying Healthy While Traveling

We’ve put together some tips below for staying healthy while traveling as well as our top advice for what not to do when packing either before or after having a child. We hope this helps alleviate any stress! Here are more details on each one of these topics:

3 Tips on how to stay sane with an infant or toddler at home during your absence

There are many things you can do to help make your babysitter’s job a little bit easier and more manageable. Here are some examples:

1) Leave out some snacks for the sitter (if they will be eating with your children). This can help alleviate the stress of having to think about what to make for lunch or dinner.

2) Give them a list of your child’s preferred activities, as well as any rules that you would like them to abide by while you are away. This will help create some consistency for your children and also give the sitter an idea of how you want things run in your absence.

3) Make sure to provide contact information for yourself as well as anyone else who might be checking in on the children (a friend, family member, etc.). This will help if there are any questions or problems that arise while you’re away.

Things you shouldn’t do when packing for a babymoon (or any vacation)

Below, you will find some helpful advice on things you shouldn’t do when packing for a babymoon:

– Don’t overpack! Packing too much will just take up space in your suitcase and make it more difficult to move around – especially if the trip is far. The last thing you want on your babymoon is an injury or accident due to lack of mobility.

– Don’t forget important documents such as your passport, boarding passes, etc. This will help make the process of traveling go much smoother.

– And finally, don’t bring anything that you don’t need! The fewer items you have to worry about packing and taking with you on your trip, the better. Remember, you’re on vacation – not at work. Leave the stressful items behind and enjoy your time away!
